History
The school was established on Discovery Day, 1866, when the American state Conference of Congregational Churches systematically acknowledged a determination to realize a faculty in Northfield. Two Northfield representatives, Charles Augustus Wheaton and Charles M. Goodsell, each gave ten sections of land (4 ha) of space for the 1st grounds.
